ATTUNE Self-Defense offers practical training designed for real-life situations

The focus is not just on techniques, but on how people actually respond under pressure—because in moments of stress, awareness, timing, and simplicity matter more than strength.

Through a combination of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and awareness-based training, ATTUNE helps participants build confidence, improve decision-making, and feel more in control in their everyday lives.

ABOUT PALOMA

I’m a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach and facilitator based in NY.

My work is focused on teaching self-defense in a way that is realistic, accessible, and grounded in how the body and mind respond to stress.

Over time, I saw that many traditional self-defense approaches don’t fully prepare people for real situations.
They rely on perfect reactions—while in reality, most people freeze, hesitate, or feel overwhelmed.

That’s where my approach is different.

I combine:

  • BJJ-based technique

  • Situational awareness

  • An understanding of how the nervous system responds under pressure

This allows people to learn in a way that feels practical, supportive, and actually usable.

My Approach

Self-defense is not just about fighting.

It’s about:

  • Recognizing situations early

  • Responding with clarity instead of panic

  • Using simple, effective actions when needed

Training is designed to be:

  • Beginner-friendly

  • Adaptable to different comfort levels

  • Focused on real-life application

The goal is not perfection—
it’s helping you feel more aware, prepared, and confident in your environment.
